Liberals, with the support of the NDP, are demonizing law-abiding firearms owners, while at the same time supporting new measures to actually reduce sentencing for criminals charged with illegal gun offences.

This is a confusing and hypocritical message they are sending on crime.

I have and will always support common-sense firearms policies that keep guns out of the hands of dangerous criminals while standing up for farmers, hunters, sports shooters, paintball and airsoft enthusiasts.

This is why I will support the repeal of C-71 and the May 2020 Order in Council. I will continue to oppose the changes proposed in C-21.

I also support the existing mandatory minimum sentences that keep violent gang members off the streets and target smuggling operations before illegal firearms reach the border.

We will be reviewing existing firearms legislation to ensure it focuses on dealing with criminals rather than making life more difficult for law-abiding firearms owners.
